Privacy Policy

The short version: the DataTally app collects nothing about you and sends nothing anywhere. The only personal data we ever handle is the email address you use to buy a license.
The app
DataTally measures network usage with standard macOS statistics, directly on your Mac. Everything it records (speeds, totals, per-app usage, history) stays there and never leaves it. The app contains no analytics or crash reporting. There is nothing to sign in to, and the app makes no network connections of its own. Even license activation works offline: your Mac checks the key's signature locally rather than asking a server.
Deleting the app's data folder (or the app itself) removes everything it has recorded.
This website
datatally.app is a static site served by Cloudflare. We don't run analytics on it or set cookies. Cloudflare may process technical request data (such as IP addresses) to serve and secure the site, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Purchases
Our payment provider handles the payment itself and acts as the merchant of record. To process your order, they collect your name, email address, payment information, and country for tax purposes, under their own privacy policy. We never see your payment details.
From each purchase we receive your email address and the license key issued to it. We keep this record so we can resend your key if you lose it and verify your license if you contact support. We don't use it for marketing, and we don't share it with anyone.
Your rights
You can ask us to show or delete the license record associated with your email address at any time. If we delete it, we can no longer resend your key. Contact us at support@datatally.app.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here with a new date. And since the app never sends us anything, a change can't retroactively affect data we hold about your usage: there isn't any.
